Men's Walk on Dartmoor
In September a group of the more 'mature' aged fellers, who have participated in Manifest, went for a wander on Dartmoor.
We set out from the site of the Manifest Summer camp, and strode northwards across the tussocks in the warm early Autumn sun. Our destination was the standing stone called Beardown Man.
In some ways the warm weather and sense of peaceful spaciousness made up for the torrential intensity of the 2008 Manifest camp. When we arrived at Beardown we had a good sharing about our experiences of being men in the middle part of our lives, heading away from youth towards old age. By the time we arrived back at the campsite our bodies were in agreement that we were definitely moving beyond our more sprightly younger selves.

For the first time Manifest has to be cut short (Saturday pm) when the river through the camp rises over 3 feet in two days!
